The Nido is the infant room...

The spanish word Nido means ‘nest’. For us, the class of the Nido symbolizes the beginning of a journey, the encounter of new spaces, new people, and new experiences. Young children are discovering who they are. They are welcoming many new aspects of life. They are moving from liquid to solid food, trying different savors, falling asleep in arms, with a lullaby, or in a quiet atmosphere; communicating through sounds, laughter, gestures, the finger, or babbling; enjoying outdoors, or preferring small cozy spaces... These are daily life moments that become powerful tools children use as they get to know themselves, their likes and dislikes.
For us, the class of the Nido symbolizes the beginning of a journey, the encounter of new spaces, new people, and new experiences. At this age, the physical growth is fast and continuous! Sitting down firmly, crawling with one leg only, sliding on the belly, taking steps, walking, running, climbing.... All these are skills that children develop and use fully to discover their surroundings.

We believe in the importance of making visible the competency of the young child. The infant and toddler’s developmental milestones are seen, not only as an expected evolution, but also, and most importantly, as the power of the child to welcome, encounter and conquer life. We like to think of the Nido as a place that offers quality, where children, parents and teachers unite to live this journey together.
